the thing about life is…
just kidding. i know nothing about life.
im just a clueless rock with a wifi connection.
if you went here looking for deep philosophical answers,
or a little manual on how to figure life out,
im sorry but youve come to the wrong place.
all i have here is a compilation of my ramblings
about random things life keeps throwing at me.
if you want to be confused about life too,
then youre more than welcome to dive in.
if something here somehow helps you,
make sense of your own chaos, then amazing,
if not, then thanks for the traffic.
Either way,
Welcome to the thing about life is.

A few days ago, I celebrated my 34th birthday, which means I have now officially walked Earth longer than Jesus.
And it has been quite a hike.
I have walked through sceneries of joy and pleasure, and wandered through dreadful valleys of doubts, heartbreaks, and despair.
And now, I have finally arrived and settled into my own little corner of this world.
With nothing but gratitude for everything, and I mean everything, that have happened to me in this journey.
CEBU CITY – I have always loved looking at paintings maybe because I have always wanted to be a good painter myself. It still confuses me how all of my siblings can paint really well, but whenever I try to draw something on paper, absolutely nothing happens. No masterpiece. No hidden talent waiting to be discovered. Not even a decent-looking flower. Sometimes I think God may have been a little sleepy when He was making me and simply forgot to include “painting” in my skillset.
Anyway, because of my love for paintings, I decided to take some time to visit the Tubo Cebu Art Fair 2026 at Ayala Center Cebu.
CEBU CITY – Ever since my college days, I have always dreamed of operating my own liquor bar where my fellow enjoyer of the spirit can peacefully coalesce to ponder and talk about life’s musings. This year, an opportunity finally came along to turn this dream into reality. However, as I looked into the accounting projections, it seems more than likely that this dream business of mine will be in the red which meant that I would have to subsidize its operations for at least the first year.
ORMOC – This year, I decided to get back into mountain trekking and once again experience the unique beauty of the world from atop a mountain.
The last time I did this was probably two years ago, when I climbed Mt. Lanaya and Kalo-kalo Peak in Southern Cebu. I was seriously out of shape at the time, so getting to the summit was a struggle. Even the hike to the campsite already had me gasping for air.
TAGBILARAN – The last time I toured Bohol was probably around ten years ago. Since I found myself with a bit of free time, I decided to do the classic Bohol Day Tour simply to refresh my memory and see how the famous tourist spots are doing after all these years.
I booked a solo tour in a private sedan for around ₱3,500. I honestly did not bother looking for a better deal because I was still tired from the marathon hahaha.
PANGLAO – Last year was particularly challenging for me as I was dealing with a health scare. I spent years abusing my body through habitual drinking, eating unhealthy food or sometimes not even eating at all, and, of course, the never-ending stress from work. It dawned upon me that the human body has limits, and mine eventually decided to file a strongly worded Complaint.
I had to put some of my personal plans on hold because it took months of treatment before I could get my health back to full strength. After recovering, I decided that I needed to take better care of my body and, more importantly, start getting more out of life while my body is still capable rather than simply working my ass off. So, I planned a few things to get into in 2026, and one of them was to finally take running seriously.
CEBU CITY – The Odyssey was one of the most anticipated films of 2026, and as a Christopher Nolan fan, I had been waiting for this movie since last year. However, even before its release, the movie already attracted quite a bit of controversy, particularly over its casting. When the movie finally came out, the reviews were all over the place. Some people called it a masterpiece, while others thought it was disappointing and claimed that much of the hype simply came from the fact that it was directed by Christopher Nolan.
